Welcome to S.H.R. Our aim is to bring a local community radio
service to South Hertfordshire by making and producing programmes relevant to the areas we serve featuring local
news, information, music, local events and promoting local artists by broadcasting their material on international
platforms like the internet and shortwave radio.
We endeavour to be different by playing music mostly unheard
of these days on many radio stations. Our music policy is mostly from the era 1980 -1995 and consists of alternative
dance music, soul, funk, rare grooves and hip hop with some modern chart music and classic
oldies. Specialist music programmes are also broadcast.
SHR also has a large
archive of original and restored content from offshore pirate radio including recordings from legitmate
stations of the past. We recognise the dedicated worldwide following for this kind of radio and we are happy to re-broadcast
content from these stations on our network.
SHR is a privately
funded organisation with limited advertising and sponsorship. We are a voluntary group with a dedicated team. More
